3D Box Shot Pro Freeware!

3D Box Shot Pro is now freeware. That’s right. You no longer have to pay us to download the full version of the software. So why did we do this? The world has changed quite a bit since we released the first version of 3D Box Shot way back in 2004. I’m not normally one for nostalgia, however, if you’d like to see the very first iteration of our site please check the Way Back Machine: https://web.archive.org/web/20041022043737/http://www.3d-box-shot.com/

In 2004, there were no Android phones or tablets (the first Android Device was released on September 23, 2008). Apple didn’t release the first iPhone until June 29, 2007. In 2004 PC’s and Laptops were all the rage and the PC software market was healthy and buoyant. 3D Box Shot was a single purpose product back in 2004.  It made the best looking 3D Box Shots and used hardware accelerated OpenGL to provide real-time rendering.

As the years have passed the demand for software box shots has all but dwindled away to nothing as the world has embraced mobile devices and home PC’s (other than gaming rigs) gather dust and cobwebs in the corner. However, 3D Box Shot Pro continues to live on due to its ability to render pretty much anything. Unlike dedicated 3D modeling applications, 3D Box Shot Pro can be used by creatives without having to spend years learning to master some of the most complex software on the planet. 3D Box Shot Pro provides a simple 3D rendering system that anyone can use, providing stunning results without the learning curve.

It’s used extensively by mug manufacturers to render mugs designs. It’s used by designers to showcase licensing patterns. It’s used by web designers and food manufacturers. The motto of Jellypie Software is and remains “Creative Tools for Creative People”. While there seem to be less and less creative people in the world, primarily due to so many additional ways to consume content rather than make it, those creative people are still out there and need tools to help them. As so we decided to make 3D Box Shot Pro Available for free.
