The rise and rise of digital publishing has meant that the demand for quality eCovers has never been higher. 3D Box Shot Pro comes with no less than four separate 3D eBook models that you can easily texture with your own designs. You can then position these at any angle you want, add soft shadows and realistic reflections. You can even apply depth mapping to create embossing effects on your ecover design. With the addition of environment mapping you can create stunning shiny foil effects for your eBook cover design.
- Here are some examples of the eBook Models in 3D Box Shot Pro:

These first two images use the "Book Open Standing" model in 3D Box Shot Pro. Both have soft shadows and reflections applied and both use the back ground image function in 3D Box Shot Pro to overlay the eBook over a background. Environment mapping is used on the Love 2.0 cover to create a shiny effect. The cover of David Gemmell's White Wolf uses embossing to mimic the embossing on the cover of the actual book. We made the cover by scanning the dust jacket of the 1st edition copy of the novel.

This image was made in 3D Box Shot Pro, using the "Book Stack 1" eBook model and a scan of the cover of Ian McEwan's novel Sweet Tooth. The background image is simply a scan of the back cover. We used reflections in this image, but as the cover has a matt finish, it isn't actually shiny, so we held off on the environment mapping effects.

The image above of Seth Godin's seminal marketing book Purple Cow was made in 3D Box Shot Pro using the "Closed Book" model. The rotation routine was used to rotate the book 90 degrees in order to display it on its side. This makes it easier to read the text on the front of the book and also make the design look more unique by displaying the ecover at an unusual angle. We also tweaked the perspective using the simple perspective controls in 3D Box Shot Pro and used the cover texture as a depth map to create some embossing on the cover. All this was completed in less than 5 minutes!

This is a render of the Book Stack 2 model in 3D Box Shot Pro, this time showcasing the cover of Will Self's Booker Prize short listed novel UMBRELLA. This uses the depth mapping effect in 3D Box Shot Pro to bring some life to the scanned texture. Specular lighting is set to zero to reproduce the matt finish of the cover.
